  9. 1)  FAITH INVOLVES RELATIONSHIP!

  11. The Bible teaches that not all have faith ... there are those who
  12. have no faith! 2 Thess. 3:2, Deut. 32:20
  13.  
  14. But born-again believers have A MEASURE OF FAITH!  Romans 12:3
  15.  
  16. This measure can be used and YOUR FAITH CAN BE GREATLY ENLARGED!
  17.      2 Thess. 1:3

  19. 2)  FAITH IS A LIFE-STYLE!
  20.  
  21. Only the just can live the faith life-style!  Romans 1: 17
  22.  
  23. The proud are headed for judgment ... James 4:6, Hab. 2:4, Isaiah 
  24.      2:12, Mal.4:1 
  25. The religious person without God is cursed ... Gal. 3:10,11
  26. The backslider is headed for destruction ... Hebrews 10:38,39
  27.  
  28. Jesus said in Mark 11:22 "HAVE FAITH IN GOD".  Therefore it must be
  29. possible to have faith in other things! Jesus would not be just and
  30. fair if He told us to have something which was not possible for us
  31. to have or do!

  33. FAITH COMES FROM THE LIVING WORD (JESUS) THROUGH THE WRITTEN WORD!
  34. Romans 10:17, Hebrews 12:2

  36. As we live by faith and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus every day
  37. (Psalm 1, Joshua 1:8), He is not only the author of faith but THE
  38. PERFECTER OF FAITH.  The faith of other believers can inspire us
  39. but we must look to Jesus as our example of faith!
  40.  
  41. It is only by a confident trust in the all-powerful Christ that you
  42. can live in victory and be superior to circumstances, resisting the
  43. devil and all the evil forces that would seek to destroy you.
  44.  
  45. FAITH - that SUPERNATURAL FORCE that releases the power of God in
  46. our situation - IS A CONFIDENT ASSURANCE GIVEN THROUGH GOD'S SPIRIT
  47. TO OUR SPIRIT & ENABLES US TO BELIEVE IN OUR HEART WHAT GOD HAS
  48. SAID AND TO ACT OUT WHAT GOD HAS PUT IN OUR HEARTS TO DO.

  51. 3)  FAITH CAN BE NEUTRALISED BY...

  53.      WORRY... 1 Peter 5:6,7; Matthew 6:26-33 
  54.      FEAR... Matthew 8:26
  55.      PAYING ATTENTION TO CIRCUMSTANCES ... Matthew 14:30
  56.           (the way to sink in life!) 
  57.      BAD ATTITUDES, e.g. "Holier than thou" Isaiah 65:5
  58.      WRONG SPEAKING ... James 3:2-6, Prov. 18:21,
  59.      LIP SERVICE... Isaiah 29:13, Ezekiel 33:31
  60.      MATERIALISM... Matthew 16:8

  62. 4)  FAITH CAN BECOME GREAT!
  63.  
  64. Your faith can become "great faith", if you will
  65.      BE HUMBLE      Matthew 8:5-9 The centurion came without
  66.                     selfishness (he could have let his servant
  67.                     suffer but HE CARED)
  68.                     Felt he was not worthy for Jesus to "come
  69.                     under his roof"! Had right attitudes and right
  70.                     priorities! 
  71.      BE PERSISTENT  Matthew 15:22-28
  72.                     Don't give up on the Word of God!
  73.                     Train yourself to persevere under trial!
  74.                     God keeps His Word!
  75.  
  76.      BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT ...   Eph. 5:18, Acts 6:5
  77.                     It is one thing for you to have the Holy
  78.                     Spirit indwelling you but DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT
  79.                     HAVE YOU? To be filled with the Spirit means
  80.                     you are
  81.                     Spirit-possessed, Spirit-empowered, Spirit-led
  82.                     and Spirit-controlled! 1 Cor. 6:19,20

  84. 5)    FAITH CAN BE ACTIVATED!
  85.  
  86.           BY SPEAKING    Proverbs 12:13,14; Matthew 9:21; Luke 17:6
  87.           BY ASKING      Mark 10:52
  88.           BY OBEYING     Luke 17:19
  89.  
  90. 2 Corinthians 4:18 tells us to "look not at the things which are
  91. seen, but to look at the things which are not seen; for the things
  92. which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are
  93. eternal.:
  94.  
  95. In Mark 11:14 we read that Jesus spoke to the fig-tree and His
  96. disciples were listening.
  97.  
  98. When Jesus spoke to the tree, He was not speaking to the seen but
  99. to the unseen! Verse 20 tells us that the disciples saw the fig
  100. tree withered from THE ROOTS up! Jesus spoke words out of His mouth
  101. to the tree not to the leaves, etc. which could be seen but.to the
  102. very life of that tree .. THE ROOT SYSTEM!

  104. Jesus said WHOEVER SAYS ... and DOES NOT DOUBT IN HIS HEART THAT
  105. WHAT HE SAYS IS GOING TO HAPPEN .... SHALL HAVE! Mark 11:23
  106.  
  107. JESUS TAUGHT BY EXAMPLE THAT YOU AND I MIGHT KNOW HOW TO WORK THE
  108. WORD!
  109.  
  110. Don't say "I can't do that! Jesus is in a different class to me!"
  111. JESUS SAID WHOEVER SAYS .... WHOEVER SAYS .... WHOEVER SAYS - that
  112. person SHALL HAVE if he does not doubt in his heart that It will
  113. happen!
  114.  
  115. 6)   FAITH'S FORMULA
  116.  
  117. a)   HAVE A SCRIPTURE covering your need.
  118. b)   BELIEVE GOD'S WORD and confess it!
  119. c)   PAY NO ATTENTION TO CIRCUMSTANCES
  120. d)   LIVE DAILY IN PRAISE FOR THE ANSWER until it comes to pass.

  123. Every believer will discover that POSITIONALLY you "call those
  124. things that be not as though they were" but EXPERIENTIALLY (by
  125. contact with facts and events), you remain in faith and wait with
  126. patience (persevering on the Word), until those things are
  127. manifested! Romans 4:17, Hebrews 10:36
